We had indoor recess during lunch/recess because of the rain and wetness, so we made sure to make it out for some more puddle jumping this afternoon. The kids are starting to seem a little tired, and I completely understand! We are doing many new things and they are learning so much so fast.

Wednesday
Today we painted our butterflies, learning how to use the water colors. We rotated through stations, taking time to do a guided discovery of our kitchen area. This means going through the expectations for being safe, kind, and responsible, in this part of our classroom. We believe that if we teach children what we expect we are setting them up for success. They learned a new song at music (ask them about Tommy Thumb!) and we had math this afternoon! We began talking about "attribute" and learned how to "turn and talk" with a math partner. We also explored math manipulatives: pattern blocks, unifix cubes, and polydrons. We saved some time at the end to do some sharing on the big screen for the first time!
