This week we also did a project where they drew and cut out construction paper gingerbread people and then did an engineering project! They were given one square of cardboard, one piece of aluminum foil, and a foot of masking tape. They built a boat to keep the gingerbread dry when we put it in water! It was a great project that used so many skills- fine motor to draw and cut the gingerbread people, executive function to plan ahead how to use the materials, drawing and writing skills to make the plan, and problem solving/perseverance to build something! It was neat to see the kids use all those big skills!

Gingerbread Fun!
We've had a fun couple of weeks reading gingerbread stories and this week we ended our unit with our play (thank you all for coming!) and some cookie making. The cookies ran away today and we had to look all over the school but found them back in the classroom! We decorated them, watched a short video "If You Give a Mouse a Christmas Cookie" and then played out in the snow!
