First Two Days of Kindergarten!

Hello Everyone! My apologies for the delay in getting this post up! We had a great and very busy first two days of school! The kids really enjoyed getting to spend a little more time exploring the classroom, and learned many new rules and routines all about kindergarten. You could tell even by the second day that they felt so comfortable in the classroom and knowing what the day would look and feel like. We had lots of time to explore different areas of the room and school. We learned the three school rules and filled a jar with "warm buzzies" for such excellent rule following! Ask your children what the rules are and how to earn a "warm buzzy"! They are looking forward to a small celebration tomorrow for filling the jar! Enjoy the pictures below to see them working hard drawing at their desks, trying out choice time with a limit to how many people could be in each area of the room, and exploring some math manipulatives at rotating table stations! I would love for this blog to be an opportunity for families to interact with our class. Please try leaving a comment for us, perhaps sharing what your child said about their first couple days of school?!

  1. These pictures are great! Thank you giving us a look inside the classroom during the day. Everyone looks like they are busy having fun. By the way I know Aidan told you we have a Buzzy Jar at home. We've been trying a couple of different methods of encouraging good listening, etc., with out too much success. He is so excited about Buzzies at school we adopted them for home. So far he has earned 6 Buzzies, and can't be more happy about it. When he fills up his jar he will have a choice of a small toy, or family activity. Hope you had a great holiday weekend. Thank you again for the pictures.

  2. Thanks so much for the pictures! It's great to see all fun, hands-on things the things the kids are up to. So far Gianna has also really enjoyed the challenge of filling up the Buzzy Jar. Her other highlights include the songs she is learning (which she comes home singing daily)as well as going to the library and making new friends. Keep up the great work!
