Busy Week!

What a week! It's hard to know where to begin to tell you about all the great things we've been doing! We have spent time doing some literacy activities with our names, learned how letters make words, and sorted some short and long words. We have explored math manipulatives and sorted shapes based on color and attribute, and begun our thematic unit of study on the Monarch Butterfly with a slideshow and entry in our new science notebooks! We have continued our guided discovery (learn about then practice) for places around the room (like the listening center) and fun new things to play with (playdoh- thanks Conner family!). We have read Eric Carle's The Very Hungry Caterpillar several times and will begin making our own version of the book next week as part of our Eric Carle author study. All the while, we are still learning rules and routines, earning "warm buzzies" and celebrating our successes! We are working especially hard at "calm, quiet bodies" for kindergarten :) Have a great weekend!

  1. Thank you for the great pictures this week. Aidan was very proud to show us how to count to 15 this week, and we have read his library book each night since he borrowed it. We were very happy to provide play dough, and love to see the children enjoying it. Enjoy your weekend.
