We have had another busy week in kindergarten! It has been so wonderful to be back in the classroom after Naomi's lead weeks. We have been busy continuing the routines of reader's and writer's workshop, math lessons and stations, and more! This is Naomi's last official week with us, although she will be back next week to sub while I do some literacy assessments. It has been an absolute pleasure to have her and the kids and I will really miss her. It is such a treat to have two teachers and really helps to be able to differentiate and plan fun activities! Today we made cards and cookies and shared some gifts with her.
This week we have had a couple of special opportunities! We started the week with Four Winds, had an author visit today from John Churchman. The kids were most excited to meet and pet the dogs who appear in his stories! We also had two special afternoon of stations with the 7th and 8th graders from Harbor House at WCS on Wednesday and Friday. What a neat opportunity to see these children interact with our kindergartners, teaching them about letters, numbers, and just playing!
We are continuing to practice our gingerbread songs and students had a chance to sing in the microphone if they wanted, and then share their top choices for parts in the play. We can't wait to share our play with you!
