Life cycles!

We had a very exciting and busy week last week. Thursday morning we went over to watch the play The Emperors New Clothes. It was a short play (about 45 minutes) and after hearing the story version, the kids were very anxious to see how they would make the Emperor wearing no clothes!!
On Friday we had a lovely afternoon out in the beautiful sunshine. We planted cucumber seeds to start growing under our grow lamps, and harvested the spinach out of our garden that survived the winter! We washed it and mixed it with some maple balsamic and many children were begging for more!
We also participated in a school wide Arbor Day and Green Up Day celebration, singing songs with the school, planting a maple tree on the playground, and cleaning up trash all around the school.
This week we are finishing up our How-to books (be on the lookout for another reading on the Seesaw app. We have some new tadpoles in the class we are learning about how to take care of (Eisley mentioned first thing that we should write about them in our science journals!) and will watch them grow. Our chicks eggs are on day 6 of 21 so we have our fingers crossed!! Edward and his mom brought in a cardboard nesting box and some pretend chickens that the kids have been having a blast with during choice time!
We have been singing the songs to our frog play and today we brought in a microphone to give some friends a chance to try singing in front of the class and see how they like it! Very impressive!
