What a great week it has been! It has felt great to be back in the classroom and I have been amazed with the independence and maturity of the kids. They are all so excited about being here and have transitioned so easily between Ms. Greenfield and myself.
The week started with some cold weather and indoor recess and has warmed up so much, many of the children were sweaty today coming in from recess!
We've jumped right in to a new writing unit, focusing on writing true stories and thinking about ways to make our writing easier for ourselves, and others, to read. I couldn't believe all the writing happening the moment the children took their seats!
In Fundations we are reviewing handwriting upper and lower case letters and beginning to tap out CVC (consonant vowel consonant) words, which will help us in both reading and writing! We've begun meeting in guided reading groups and children will be bringing home a book to read to you! Please help your child remember to bring it back on Monday!
In math we have been learning many new games to use during our station time. We are doubling numbers, writing equations, and thinking about numbers that go together to make five and ten.
Today in tech lab children learned how to access my webpage from the school website in order to access certain learning sites that they are familiar with. They were working really hard to navigate the directions together and help each other.
We've been busy!!
