Today we finished our last rotation of our school wide Red Clover celebration. We have been joining in multiage groups to read each Red Clover story and kids will have a chance to vote for their favorite tomorrow morning during library time. In Writer's Workshop we are finishing up our study of How-To books by writing and publishing one book to read and share with the preschool classes tomorrow. The kids have been working very hard to think about what makes their writing easier for them to be able to read, and practicing the reading strategies from guided reading (pointing, using the picture to guide them, looking at the first sound) to read their own work! When we return from the break we will be using our writer's workshop time for a week or two to focus on a science engineering unit about pushes and pulls!
