May Already?!

Hard to believe it's already May! Here are some things happening in our classroom in these final weeks of school:

We are studying plant and frog life cycles! We are doing lots of science, growing plants and hatching frog eggs! The plants have been a great learning opportunity for students to think about what seeds need: many of the seeds we planted are getting too much or not enough water which is greatly affecting the growing! ;)

In Fundations we are working on writing sentences, continuing learning about digraphs and coming back to more handwriting practice and instruction. Reading groups are in full swing and will continue through the end of May. In math, we are focused on teen numbers, looking at recognizing and writing, noticing them in dot patterns, and decomposing into ten and some more (early base 10 and place value work!).

Our Donorschoose project was fulfilled thanks to some generous donors! We have added many new and exciting things to our classroom including a doctor's kit, vet kit, community helper costumes, and two baby dolls. Children have been practicing their imaginative play and it has been so fun to see the kids interacting in all new ways.
