Happenings in Kindergarten

Here are just a few of the many things we did this week!

We made the covers for our Very Hungry Caterpillar Books using paint and our hands!
Mrs. Tatlock came to visit and teach us about feelings. Ask your children about clear mind, mud mind, and sparkle mind.
We spent lots of time outside! We earned an extra morning recess by filling our "buzzy jar" and we took breaks in our day to do things like play "red light green light" (and practice freezing when we hear the chime!)
We wrote our own and our friends' names on iPads!
Mr. Nardelli came and read a story to Mrs. Dyer's and Mrs. Read's classes.

We had so much fun. This week we started writer's workshop (video coming soon!), number corner (calendar) and math. Each day was so busy! We adopted a Monarch Caterpillar and watched it turn into a chrysalis and drew in our science journals. We made and colored hopes and dreams for kindergarten this year. This list goes on! I am loving our class and all of your children. I can already tell it is going to be a fantastic year!

  1. I haven't read The Very Hungry Caterpillar in a LONG time ... I wonder if it was a monarch?

  2. Hi Ellen,
It is not a monarch in The Very Hungry Caterpillar, because it has lots of colors. Monarchs have orange and black and white so that's how we know.
