A few updates!

The kids have been busy during morning choice loving to pretend to be the teacher. One or two of them uses the pointer and runs a morning meeting, or teaches Fundations with Echo and the letter/keyword/sound cards, or they rearrange the schedule for the day. It has been so sweet to watch them loving to be in the "teacher role" and play out the day that happens here each day.

In writer's workshop we are working hard learning to make books. Some kids were stuck on writing words, or wanting the teacher to write for them, so we got a collection of books from the library of wordless books to begin an illustration study! We've been talking about what we notice in illustrations and how they tell the story. We also had a lesson this week about how to draw people! We went through step by step the features of a person and practiced what shapes we use to make people. The kids had fun and I think they were really impressed with their drawings!

In math we introduced our first "game" Which Bug Will Win? It's a game of probably where the kids learn one to one correspondence, how to make a graph, counting and comparing.
