IPads

Today instead of going to the technology lab, we brought technology to us! We used the IPads and kids learned how to get from our school website to our class blog (have them show you how!). We had a little trouble getting the videos on our blog to work, so we ended up exploring other classroom blogs in kindergarten as well. It was really neat to see the kids making connections with other classrooms. One student noticed that Mrs. Macnee's class has the same math game as we do (Count and Compare Butterflies) and Mrs. Davison's class has a big book of The Snowy Day, a book we have been reading! It was also a great opportunity for the kids to further their understanding of what a blog is, and how we use the tool to learn and communicate around the school, and the world! Many children often comment that they "don't have the blog at home" so this gave them another understanding of how we can access it anywhere on the internet. Quite a concept for these young minds!
