January

In math kids are working hard to learn about measuring. This week we practiced using terms like "longer than", "shorter than" and "equal" or "the same". We measured using string, unifix cubes, and popsicle sticks and learned about the signs greater than (>) and less than (<) and how we can use them to compare numbers.
Today kids learned about a new typing program called Typing Club. They can access it on our "Links for Kids" document that they know how to access through the school web page! There username and password are both their first name.
In Fundations we are doing handwriting (upper and lower case letter review) so look in the Friday folder for more practice with the letters we reviewed this week! We also learned how to "tap out" simple CVC words like map, mop, sit, sad. We are talking about how this can help us read words in our new just right books and also can help us listen for sounds in our words during writer's workshop!
