There are so many things happening in our classroom these days, it's hard to keep up! Here are just a few...

Ms. Snow is with us on Tuesdays and Thursdays from Champlain College. Her latest lesson involved starting pen pals with Mrs. Read's class next door. Partners will be writing letters back and forth each week. The kids were so excited to get a letter from a friend in another class!

Our latest buzzy celebration was making worry stones (also called soothing stones). One of the many ways we are learning to be more self aware. Today we also started a mindfulness program where we will practice some guided relaxation each day and learn about training our bodies to relax and focus!

We are continuing to work on our reading and writing skills in so many ways. This time of year is so big for academic growth after working so hard on settling into routines and how to be a student! The kids are really showing an interest and excitement around books and reading! 

Last week partners got together and practiced being writing teachers for each other! We have been working hard on ways to be "Star Writers!" by using spaces between our words, uppercase at the beginning of a sentence, punctuation at the end, and sight words from our kindergarten word wall! They are working very hard!
